Tem um monte de Oxum no SUS

Painting (acrylic) over photography (diptych), 18 x 25cm (each)

there's a lot of Oxum in the SUS

I think the goddesses work more in the Unified Health System, while the humanx humanize other places. There were many of us giving birth and, immersed in that experience, each one had to discover her own time. There, with beds glued together, we experience the lack of sensitivity of the public service, but also the frightening power of our giant bodies. and the love in us drenched everything, turned each stretcher into a waterfall with a strong fall. There's a lot of Oxum in the SUS, there's a lot of Oiá too. And other goddesses.

Aline Brune

Aline Brune is a visual artist, actress, and mother. She earned a master’s degree in Visual Arts at PPGAV/EBA-UFBA in 2021 and bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts at UFRB in 2016. “My work centres on painting photographs and making embroideries, among other techniques, for an experimentation that establishes a connection between Bodies, Public Spaces, Dreams, Ancestry, and Memory." Painting on photographs emerged for Brune to give visuality to less visible layers of experiences including the dreamlike and ancestral universe. “This universe—as black women—we are little encouraged to deal with in order to understand ourselves, recognize and/or revere ourselves.
