Bia Melo
Bia Melo graduated in Architecture and Urbanism from the Federal University of Pernambuco. She has been working as a visual artist since 2011. Melo has participated in several cultural projects and national and international collective exhibitions. Her artistic expression developed in several art collectives: Atelier 6, Peligro, Gráfica Lenta, Maumau and Risco! Melo communicates through the abstract and figurative and transits through different supports and techniques, such as collage, engraving, drawing, painting, and installations. She won the Recife Visual Arts award in 2014 for her Alignment project, which consisted of an intervention on the facade of the Murillo La Greca Museum, Brazil. Currently, she has been focusing on the threshold between the figurative and the abstract through body movements.
