Daniela Torrente

Daniela Torrente specialized in Image and Contemporary Culture and has a B.F.A. in Visual Arts from Santa Marcelina. She participates in the Hermes Artes Visuais group, monitored by artists Carla Chaim, Nino Cais and Marcelo Amorim. Her work is part of the collection of the Museum of Image and Sound of São Paulo (MIS). Her research practice moves between her interest in the construction of female identity and her experience as a descendant of Armenian refugees. These axes can remain isolated, but it is common for them to collide frequently. She uses photography as a basis but also makes use of engraving, video, drawing, collage, and sculpture to express themes connected with belonging, memory, patterns, identity, the feminine, and everyday life.
